Science Olympiad Poster Design
When I was a sophomore at Eastern Michigan University, I enrolled in the course "Image Making." The goal was to experiment with typography and to practice using tools in Adobe Software. I chose to design a poster for the Science Olympiad. I used the bevel and emboss tool in Photoshop to manipulate shapes and type into a cohesive unit. I learned how to incorporate negative space into a poster sized 11" x 17."
The Science Olympiad is a competitive academic program where K-12 students participate in team-based events across various scientific disciplines, promoting hands-on learning and teamwork akin to a sports team, culminating in national tournaments at universities nationwide.
